Here is his first email after I winked at him...
Hi,I liked your profile...it sure is nice to see someone on Match who knows what they want. That's where I'm at...I know what I want and I found it refreshing to see someone else who does too. Anyway, let me know if you would be interested in getting to know eachother a little better.Roger
Here was my incredibly eloquent reply...
I just composed this beautifully eloquent email back to you and it ate it!
Don't you hate that! Let's see if I can get my rhythm back... I'm glad you
appreciate that I know what I want and it's also nice to know there are a
few men out there that aren't initimated by that. Obviously you must have
scored at least above average on my requirements... care to share?
Happy Monday... oh and Valentine's Day.
Our conversations continued that week and eventually Roger asked for my phone number. I explained to him that I was in sales and spent the day on the phone and would rather just meet in person (I had been doing this match.com thing a while). We agreed to meet at the Mockingbird Station Starbucks at 11am on Saturday. Unfortunately, the night before I had one too many martinis out with the girls and showed up to our first date needing REAL food, not coffee. He was easy going about it and willing to head over to have some mexican food with me and ended up buying me lunch instead of coffee.
We were engaged that Christmas and got married one year and one day after we met. The rest is history...
